Maintaining
your website and keeping things current online can seem like a daunting task.
It's important to keep your content up to date, your customers informed on new
products and services, and enhance your websites SEO value. You may need to
update one page on your website, go through an entire rebrand, or possibly your
website is no longer contemporary. No matter the reason why you need to update
your website, I recommend you do it on a monthly basis (at minimum). So, the
way I recommend you do this is by taking one page at a time.
Start with the subpages. Subpages are the pages that contain the
details of your products and services. Maybe you recently added a new product to your business and this product may or may not be featured on it's own page. Try to have as much content for our visitors as possible and offer them the possibility to experience content in whatever medium they're most comfortable with, whether it's text, graphics or video.
Both graphics and video are important to branding your products or services. Not only do you want to show images of your products in different environments or different angle, you also want to provide those images in a way that it represents your brand colors and business mission.
Develop a plan for content management. The most efficient way to manage your website content, technology, and features is with a plan. Your plan should include: priorities, content messaging, workflow, and deadlines.
No matter if your website is big or small, eCommerce or strictly blogs, don’t let it sit stagnant without anything fresh or new to offer your customers. As always, if your website is icky, call Rikki!
